HOW IT WORKS
Everything you need to know about debating, voting, and betting on Split Decision
THE DEBATE FORMAT
Split Decision uses a unique single-round debate format. No endless back-and-forth — just two strong arguments, head to head.
FOR SIDE
The debate creator posts their position. This is the "FOR" argument — supporting the topic statement.
AGAINST SIDE
Another user responds with the opposing view. First responder gets the spot — so make it count.
Debate States
Waiting for someone to respond with the opposing argument
Both sides posted — voting is now open
Voting ended, winner determined by vote count
No response within time limit — debate cancelled
VOTING
Once a debate becomes active (both sides posted), the community can vote on who made the better argument.
- Vote for the side you think argued their case better
- You can change your vote while the debate is active
- Debate creators and responders cannot vote on their own debates
- Voting is free — no credits required

FAQ
Can I edit my debate after posting?
No. Once posted, arguments are locked. This ensures fairness and prevents changing your position after seeing the response.
What happens if no one responds to my debate?
Debates have a time limit. If no one responds before it expires, the debate is cancelled and marked as expired.
Can I bet on my own debate?
No. Debate creators and responders cannot bet on debates they're participating in.
Are credits real money?
No. Credits are virtual currency for fun and engagement only. They have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for real money.
What happens in a tie?
If a debate ends in a tie (equal votes), all bettors receive a full refund of their original bet amount.
